HEALTHCARE FOR ACUTE BRONCHIOLITIS IN CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OF AGE: CLINICAL GUIDELINES AND BEST PRACTICES, Magdalena Valcheva
Abstract: Acute bronchiolitis is a leading cause of hospitalization in children under two years
of age. In the absence of specific treatment, healthcare plays a central role in supporting the
young patient and facilitating recovery. This study aims to analyze best practices and current
guidelines in the healthcare of children with acute bronchiolitis, focusing on respiratory
management, hydration, nutrition, monitoring, and parental support. A targeted literature
review of scientific publications and clinical guidelines was conducted for the purposes of this
study. Healthcare interventions include respiratory function monitoring, administration of
oxygen therapy, gentle nasal suctioning, tailored nutritional support, and active involvement of
parents.
